Kevin McAninch holds a Bachelors Degree in Social Work (BSW) from the University of Northern Iowa. In 1995, he obtained his Academy of Certified Social Work (ACSW) certification from the National Association of Social Workers. In 1996, he became a Certified Case Manager (CCM) through the Commission for Case Management Certification. This certification is a clinical certification, which requires continuing education to maintain. He is also a current member of the Aging Life Care Association (ALCA).
Kevin developed a commitment to serving the elderly at a very early age, accompanying his grandmother, Irma, when she volunteered to care for home bound seniors from their church. After graduation Kevin started as a social worker at a skilled nursing facility, and continued in the path of geriatric care. He has 32 years of experience in various areas of health care. This vast experience includes two decades as Director of Managed Care for two nationally operated skilled nursing companies in California, where he directed training and operations for facility case managers and business office managers. He also has project and account management experience with 70 Veterans Administration hospitals for a care management software company. Additionally, he held the position of Director of Case Management at a San Diego long term acute care hospital, and has years of direct sales experience in acute rehab, hospice and home health settings.
Kevin had the pleasure of caring for his grandmother until her passing at the age of 99 years. In 2009, inspired by Irma and wanting to make a difference in the lives of seniors and disabled, Kevin founded AgeWell Care Solutions, a professional geriatric care management company, in San Diego, California. The company, now AgeWell Care Solutions, has expanded to offer in-home care services, along with its care management and free referral and placement services.
